Director of Strategy

Remote (PST time zone) / Full Time

The role:

Our client – an independent, full-service brand and creative agency  – has a growing book of major B2B accounts and is looking to add a Director of Strategy to round out their senior leadership team. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with an entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoys working on multiple strategic projects simultaneously. As a (mostly) remote team, you should be able to thrive in a remote/hybrid work environment. 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead brand strategy projects, beginning with developing stellar creative briefs through to collaborating with account and creative teams to create and present creative work to clients. 
  • Partner with account leads to guide our key clients towards bold and innovative solutions. 
  • Serve as the strategic partner for our key clients, understand the client’s business and provide insights that will inform overall strategy and creative campaign work. 
  • Serve as the strategic lead on our key clients, keep a pulse on the client’s industry and account, and provide strategic resources, approaches, and thought leadership. 
  • Facilitate effective brainstorming and ideation sessions with creatives and clients, turning ideas into actionable programs and/or products. 
  • Collaborate with account and creative leads to identify opportunities to grow client relationships and deepen the agency’s strategic offering on named accounts. 
  • Help support new business pitches, outline methodologies, scope potential strategy projects, and coordinate strategy resources to deliver on client needs.

About You

  • 10 + yrs of strategic planning experience driving cross-channel,  full-funnel creative, and branding work.
  • Experience working closely with creative teams to create world-class campaigns and creative executions 
  • B2B and/or technology brand experience is a must 
  • Experience leading go-to-market strategies 
  • Ability to champion non-traditional ideas 
  • Ability to create consumer personas and profiles 
  • Can clearly and persuasively communicate strategic recommendations to internal and external audiences with variable levels of understanding 
  • Can provide strategic direction on specific communications initiatives, identifying the key message or proposition and the best means to communicate this 
  • Ability to understand the dynamics of a client’s business and the sector in which it operates
  • Strong communication skills (including exceptional presentation skills) and the ability to partner with senior clients are essential
  • Familiarity with the design, application, and analysis of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques 
  • Ability to judge creative ideas for their distinctiveness and effectiveness
  • A great attitude and a can-do spirit! You want to learn, grow and elevate those around you, and you’re the kind of person others want to work with.
